Frequently Asked Questions
1. What happens if I want my child to ride the regular bus home after school at 3:15?
You must notify the school office your child attends, the secretary for that building will contact the LEAP office before 2pm and call the LEAP Office at 573-392-6364 ext. 7 so that program staff is not looking for your student.
2. What happens if school is in session all day but the weather after school is questionable?
If for any reason LEAP is to be cancelled, parents will be notified through the automated school phone system. The Eldon Mustangs and LEAP websites and Facebook pages will also have the notifications. Notifications will take place by 1pm if the program is to be cancelled.
3. What happens If my child is sent home sick from school?
If a child is sent home sick from school, or did not attend the regular school day because of an illness, then they are not permitted to attend LEAP.
4. Are emergency bus passes allowed?
Emergency bus passes are allowed for extreme circumstances ONLY. You must contact the LEAP office for this arrangement. 573-392-6364 ext. 7.
5. Can my child be involved with robotics, Mustangs in Motion (intramural athletics) or other clubs without attending each afternoon for LEAP?
Yes, the robotics, Mustangs in Motion, drama club, and various other clubs do not require the regular afternoon attendance. There is an application process for robotics.
6. Can my child attend AM LEAP and not PM LEAP?
Yes. Students do not need to be enrolled in both AM and PM LEAP and can use one or both services.
